High Touch in a High Tech World

How would you describe the state of Southlake/DFW area  real estate in 2017?

2017, home values are up, inventory is low. We have a lot of New Building going on, with variety attracting families of all sizes, executives and retirement living.

Cities continue to add amenities and make improvements, increasing the attraction. Our schools, family friendly communities and parks are all huge draws, combined with the access to the business growth happening around us.

What is one type of flooring desired by Southlake/DFW area homeowners/homebuyers?

We see  a lot of hardwood and tile replacing carpet.  Amazingly enough, many homeowners will replace even recently laid flooring, just to have the exact color or product they want. It is one of the first things new homeowners will spend on.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give a homeowner looking to sell?

Update & replace carpet with the current trend. But don’t overspend, new movers are likely to change it anyway.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give a homeowner looking to buy?

Stick to your budget and trust your realtor to help you find the perfect home for you.  They will know about the hidden gems, that you just don’t get to see from main routes or often even  hear about before they are gone. And there are MANY hidden gems.

As for floors, if you plan to stay in your home more than 5 years, choose material and colors to your taste and lifestyle vs. buying trends.

The hardest part of buying a home in our area is making up your mind. There are so many beautiful homes and  wonderful neighborhoods to choose from. Working with Floor Coverings International Southlake will be the easy part.
